When you login to exchange after giving username and password you might get “HTTP/1.1 503 Service Unavailable” there are lot of articles on web for technical reasons of this error,

But here i want to share my case, i recently did a disaster recovery of exchange 2003, everything went fine, databases mounted successfully and all services were running fine, after few days when server restarted and users accessed OWA they started getting the above error, and it was because when u do disaster recovery by default your exchange databases are set not to be mounted on start up.
so you need to uncheck this option for both mailbox store and public  store.
